‘Perfect Day’A Miles Hawk Major climbs lazily into the summer sky from a small country airfield, in a painting aimed at capturing the carefree, less regulated, days of the mid-1930s. With the Hawk of 1933 and the Hawk Major of 1934, Phillips & Powis played a big part in making light aircraft more affordable, safer, and easier to fly. Flying for sport and flying just for pleasure were growing in popularity among many young men and women of the time. ____________________ |
